Last time I blogged, my ipod went missing. It never did show up and then I found other items had gone missing also, such as: much of my gold jewelery and family heirlooms. This has totally upset me and makes me sick to my stomach. The ipod was replaced but the other items cannot be. I, consequently, asked for my keys back and kicked the BF to the curb as he repeatedly denied everything and tried to blame my son, who, BTW has no access to my apartment when I'm not home. Whatever!!!! Get the F*** out of my life forever. If I ever see you again it will be far too soon!!!

That was then, and this is now....

Since then my life has been totally wonderful. I had a wonderful 4th of July with close dear friends. In August, I attended my 35th high school reunion for which I was on the planning committee.

It turned out fantabulous.....But I will say, planning a class reunion compares to planning a wedding. It was so much fun getting reacquainted with old friends. By the time the 3 days were over, I was totally exhausted. I found that, in our "golden" (LOL) years, I cannot party like its 1999 anymore......LOL

Back in July I also attended a reunion from my childhood years living back on McNeil Island. Yes, the prison.....My dad was a prison guard there back when it was still a Federal Penitentiary. We lived on the island. Living there is an experience that can never be matched. You build life long bonds, even with the people that came after you left. The laid back life, beautiful landscapes and open clean air plus all the wildlife: raccoons, deer, etc. made this the most wonderful place to grow up.

My true BFF. We hadn't seen each other in 47 years since my family moved off the island. We kept in touch through out the years via the postal service and then email and now Facebook!!!

Being an "Island Kid" is one of the most cherished memories of my whole life. To be able to go back on the island after 47 years was one of my biggest wishes come true!!

Now I am preparing for possibly 2 new editions to my home. My brother's Chihuahua is preggers with 5, yes 5 puppies. I am laying claims to 2 of them. So this will mean a trip to Dallas to pick them up in a couple months. I so can't wait....

I think that has about caught you all up on my life and times......So, now to deal with the end of summer and beginning of Fall and then (yuck) winter.....I'm already wishing for a quick return of Spring!

ipod touch where art thou????

What a way to wake up on my birthday. My ipod went missing.....I do not misplace things. I am too anal for that. I always put things in the same place so I know exactly where they are. I could find them in my sleep. But for some reason both my ipod and charger are missing...Very strange. It's not that its missing that upsets me, it can be replaced & everything on it is in my library on itunes. What bugs me is its not where its supposed to be. I use it at work, while my route. Hopefully, it will show up before I return to work later this week. Urgh!!!!!!!

OMG! What a way to wake up on a beautiful Sunday morning.....I received an email from my (1/2) sister (who has always lived in the Bay Area & was raised by my grandmother), telling me she didn't want to be associated with me as her sister on Facebook. We have totally differing points of views politically and spiritually. But this really cuts the cake. I am a progressive and she is revolutionary....needless to say, not only does she denounce this country she wants to denounce her relationship with me. Her loss!!!!!

I surely know, my grandmother and daddy are rolling over in their graves right now.....

I believe in Karma and THIS will come back on her 3 fold. If I cut off a family member, it isn't because of politics or religion. Its due to how they treat me and others close to me. I have always given her the respect and love even though she's a bit radical. I have always stuck up for her with other family members. So, I will move on from this bump in the road with dignity after I get over the hurt and anger.

God said the road would not be easy, but worth it in the end....

Yes, I am still alive!!!!

Hopefully, I still have some followers. It has been a tough past year for me. But this year I vow to be better than ever. I bid on a new route at work and have been awarded it. Whoo hoo! It is half walking and half mounted (driving)...yay!!!!!

My eldest brother is recuperating from open heart surgery. He had a heart attack late last year and had triple bypass surgery. Living in Dallas Texas, I am not afforded the freedom to visit at whim. But we do talk on the phone frequently.....I will be traveling there in May to pick up my Chihuahua puppy. His two Chi's, Tigger & Cece mated. Cece is prego's......woohoo!!!! I can't wait. It's kinda like waiting for your surrogate to have your baby.....hehe!!! I said almost like...

Life is starting to get back to some kind of norm after my mom's passing this last summer. Trying to get back tp my knitting and spinning.

I am also enjoying watching the US kick some serious bumm on the rest of the world during the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. Although, I am not alone with complaining about NBC's coverage. I live maybe 2 1/2 hours from Vancouver. But we have to wait for a 3 hour delay in television coverage. Our local NBC channel (KING5) says they have no control....it's all NBC.....JEER's to NBC....give the contract back to ABC....please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, the last time I blogged it was about my birthday back in June............hmmmm time gets away. Oh and yes! it was Las Vegas...We had a great time.

This has not been a good year for me. After the break up with FFBF in April, my mother passed unexpectedly in July. As we are not a close family, one of my siblings has been, let me say, making things a bit difficult. I have been trying to cope with my grief and have had to set some boundaries.

I made the trip down to Dallas where my mom had been living with the other sibling, to go through her things. While there I drove to Houston to visit a very dear friend. My BFF Janet's eldest brother who had been battling with prostate cancer for the past few years. I spent some very special moments with him. This weekend, 1 week to the day of seeing him, he passed. I will truly miss him. He meant so much to me, more than anyone will ever know. This world has lost a most wonderful man. Heaven has gained one.....

It's my birthday again, and my BFF is kidnapping me just like she did for my 50th two years ago. She will not tell me where we are going. A clue here and a clue there....TSA screening, desert, 3 hour ride, hot days & cool nights.....hmmmm...What do you all think....ideas please. I am thinking Vegas, but could be wrong.

I have been trying to pick myself up after FFBF broke up with me out of the blue......

I know that life will get better for me, but after 3 1/2 years, seemed to be wasted, and the 30+ year friendship lost, it's hard to just get over it. Especially, when there was no warning and a lame excuse for it. I just feel that he is not being totally honest with me. For that matter, I don't think he ever has been. That is what truly hurts along with the non-communication and feelings of betrayal. Friends are supposed to be honest and transparent. Friends are not supposed to hide or retreat when things appear to get a little challenged. You deal with the issues together and move on. It's supposed to make your relationship stronger.

I have been slipping between hurt and anger and wish that these feelings would subside. I have returned to church and that has helped somewhat so far. I have also reached out to friends....THANK GOD! for friends. They have rallied around me.

A little wine, food and a campfire and some honest to goodness good friends do the spirits some good.

OMG! Yes, I'm still here. I have not abandoned the blogging world. So much has happened since October. We have elected a new President....yipee! I am so so happy that the Bush era is finally over. Now for the clean-up. I watched the movie "W" this past week and if there is any truth to it, it has totally validated my opinion why we are at war and that he IS a total idiot. Well on to other news.

Thanksgiving was wonderful. I spent it with my boyfriend and his family. Fabulous food and conversation. We finished the evening off with going to the cinema to see the new James Bond movie. I just love Daniel Craig as Bond. Quantum Solace was good but in keeping with sequels, Casino Royale was better.

Christmas was a disaster. You see, here in the Seattle area, we don't have white Christmases. For some reason, I got to experience one. ACK! With all the hills and the people that surely do not know how to drive in it, that is a recipe for disaster. The plan was to spend the day with my boyfriend at my family's in Edmonds. NOT!!! The city was paralyzed. Our mayor would not salt or use de-icer on the streets due to the sea life. HELLO! There is salt water in the Sound........
Enough said. So, I spent my first Christmas totally alone and snowed in.

This past week I have had a new experience. BPPV Not fun at all. For all of you that have this, you understand. I have been off work due to this and will try to get back this week. But, I have been knitting!!

I did get to the Madrona FiberArts Fest this weekend. Lovely exhibits and booths as always. Running into fellow knitters and spinners that you know from the online communities and meeting new ones is always fun. I did get a chance to have a friend take photos of me in my Central Park Hoodie that I finished last fall.

My friend Debbie models her finished fair isle sweater. She did a wonderful job! It looks fabulous.

Last but not least, some yarny goodness. One of my purchases at the Madrona FiberArts Fest. Chameleon Colorworks Footsie in the Flamingo Sunrise colorway. What a way to get in the spring mood. Can't wait to knit up some socks in this.

I have finally found the time to blog about my trip to France & England. Since Lisa didn't get to go, she told me and my escort Michael to take a lot of photos. Which we did. I thoroughly enjoyed this trip,, as you will see in the following photo montage.

History has been made!!

I attended an Obama Watch party last night at Gordon's on the Green-Foster Golf Course in Tukwila, Washington. A suburb of Seattle, 11th Legislative Dist.

It was an amazing experience to be with like minds, watching an historical event such as this. It brought tears to my eyes. To have grown up during the Civil Rights Era and to see Dr. King's dream come to fruition was totally amazing. But the job is not done yet. We need to get this man elected because "8 IS ENOUGH!"

I can't believe it's been 2 months since my last post. I have gotten totally lazy with my blogging. It's my 2nd blogiversary so I thought I should post something.

Last weekend I attended the monthly NwRSA meeting. We met at Chelsea Farms in Renton. Here are some photos of the baby Alpacas...they are soooo soooo cute. Especially the little white one that is only 2 weeks old.

Wish I could have one for a pet. But I don't think the Apt Manager would approve...hmmm

This is summer in Seattle. The rest of the country is having swealtering hot weather. OMG! I am so tired of the cold and wet weather here. If I could afford to move, I would. Somewhere where it is warm and has sunny beaches and Palm Trees.

I really have new addiction. I bought a wheel a couple months ago and finally got it to work for me. Whoo hoo!

My first skein came out thick and thin. But one of my friends told me that the fiber wasn't really that good for a beginner. Drafting was very difficult.

When I was at Renaissance Yarn in Kent spinning, I bought some Louet Merino roving. This spins like a dream for me as a beginner.

Today I finished spinning it and plying it. It is now hanging in the shower drying.

Here are some photos I had promised awhile back of my finished Olive Branch Yoga Hoodie. My first hoodie. As you can see I left off the front pockets. I knit the first one up and it was so so small. I couldn't even get my fingers completely in. I don't have large hands either. Pockets are to use, so since they weren't usable, I left them off.

I also have finished the Child's Top down Bolero from Knitting Pure and Simple and the Toddler's Felted Hat. Both are for my grand-daughter Chloe's 3rd Birthday.

I am trying to stay positive on this holiday. The one thing about being single is the holidays can get you down a little. My boyfriend is spending the weekend with his kids and my son and granddaughter live out of state. Plus! it's a rainy cloudy dreary day. But alas! There is a knitting meetup today. Whoo hoo! My saving grace.

This will be a drama-less day after all.

Why is it that when a group gets larger there tends to be ownership issues. I have attended different groups and this seems to be an ongoing issue. Mind you, not all the groups I attend have this issue. Also, when field trips are taken by group members, most seem to chip in for transportation, be it: gas, driving, lunch or whatever. But you always have one that doesn't. And they don't even have a clue.....

I give up! What to do?

Knitting group is supposed to be a relaxing diversion to the otherwise hectic drama we all experience in our daily lives. This is supposed to be a (to coin a phrase from a tv commercial) "Calgon take me away" time. Don't get me wrong, most of the people I have met and made friends with through knitting group, I really like. But there's always that one that you would love to say: Get a Clue!

Does anyone else feel the same way? Sometimes I just feel like crawling up on the couch and knit by myself. Much less drama to deal with.

Goodbye February, Hello Spring.........

Wow! Again another month came and went. Time just seems to slip on by. Made it through another Leap Year/Day. This must mean that Spring is not too far away......The Hummingbirds are back!

But, I did do a lot this past month. I bought a spinning wheel. It's used but I really didn't want to spend a lot of money at this time when I'll be trying to learn. Once I learn then I'll invest in a more expensive one. What I got was a "Babe". Apparently, I have heard through other blogs that spinners with the more expensive and beautiful wheels seem to think these aren't the real thing.....oh well. Can there also be spinning snobs? I know I'm a yarn snob but I won't put someone down due to them not preferring the same yarn as me.

I attended the Madrona again this year. If I was rich I would have been in heaven...I did purchase another Drop Spindle. That makes 3 now. I also bought some fingering weight yarn in University of Washington Huskies colors...the great purple and gold. Go DAWGS!

Last night I bound off my Olive Branch Yoga Hoodie. I just have to knit up the other pocket and seam up the hood. Today I'm going shopping for a zipper. I am so excited. It seems to fit also. Which is always a good thing. That was my issues for shying away from sweater knitting. But, by George, I think I've got it........

I also purchased a new mp3 player. This one is 2gb. Now I can crame more knitting podcasts in it. Keeps me entertained while walking my route every day.

I've Been Bitten........

I have certainly been bitten by the spinning bug. I've been wanting to learn and decided no time like the present. I went to Weaving Works in the U-district and bought a drop spindle and some roving. I love it.......

I have finished the Tilted Duster from the Fall 2007 issue of IK. My first FO of 2008....whoo hoo!

I have started Cookie A's Pomatomus socks using Pagewood Farm hand dyed sock yarn in Mariner's colorway. I have had this in my stash since the Stitch & Pitch last June. It works great with this pattern.

I have also started Little Gems Mitts from the Holiday 2007 issue of IK. I want to learn Fair Isle so I thought that this pattern was a simple one to learn from. I am using Elann Sock It To Me 4ply in Claret and Rose Wine colorways.

I have been on vacation since the 18th and now it is time to return to the working world. Tomorrow is the day......unfortunately. My next vacation won't be until May, when I'm planning on going to Mississippi to see my granddaughter Chloe for her 3rd birthday. There is a wonderful yarn store in Jackson, the name has slipped my mind. There is only one store listed in the phone book in Jackson so it is easy to find. It is located on Old Canton Road. I found it on my last visit to the south.

Boy, Where does the time go?

I can't believe this month is almost over and I haven't even posted yet this year. I finished knitting and blocking the Tilted Duster. I bought 2 cool buttons for the front at Shibori Dragon in Lakewood. Some of us from my SnB group went on a Yarn Crawl to Tacoma. Lamb's Ear, Shibori Dragon and Yorkshire Yarns. They are all great shops and each has something different to offer.

Last week at our Stitch & Bitch we had a very special guest. Ms. B from Knitters Uncensored Podcast. How exciting is that. It was great to meet her in person. We all had a fun time and took group photos with her.

I am now knitting the Olive Branch Yoga Hoodie, in Cascade 220 Heathers. I love this yarn. It knits up wonderful. Can't wait to complete it.

Squee!! My Wollmeise has arrived, straight from Germany. Since you have to practically stalk the Loopy Ewe, I decided to go straight to the source. I now have to find the perfect patterns for these two yummy yarns. I got Rhabarber and Zenzi colorways. I also want Birkenrinde. The colorways are so beautiful and vivid. Not too mention the yarn is so soft........

I am almost done with my Tilted Duster. I left the sleeves for last. I am now knitting the first sleeve. Whoo hoo! I will post photos when it's finished.

Turkey, WIP's & FO's, Oh My!

I can't believe how long it has been since my last post. I have been sick this past couple of weeks. I did make it to Turkey dinner on Thanksgiving.

I cast on the Secret of the Stole: Jaggerspun Zephyr in the Teal colorway with matching beads.

I also cast on FAWKES: I'm using Garnstudios Fabel

I have also cast on the Tilted Duster from Interweave Knits Fall issue. I'm using Cascade 220 Superwash in a brown colorway. I don't have a photo of the WIP yet. But will post one soon.

I finally finished the Mystery Stole #3......What do you all think. This was my first attempt at lace work and now I'm hooked.

Here is what I received from Helga Finch-Fetchley, my Hogwarts Sock Swap 2 partner. All the way from Heidelburg Germany. Beautiful socks from Nancy Bush, knit with Lorna's Lace...yummy! Also some scrumptous yarn "The Knittery" from Australia.

Lastly, I wanted to make a comment about a new yarn store here in Seattle that a few of us went to visit for the first time. Bad Woman Yarns. The yarns were nice, the prices okay, the customer service "CRAPPY". With the amount of options us knitter's have here in Seattle, I would think that the customer service would be impeccable. Especially, for a new business. It will be a very long time before I visit this store again. Leave me a comment and let me know what your experience has been, if you have ever been there.

To Portland or Bust

Columbus Day weekend some of my knitting friends and I took Amtrak to Portland for yarn crawl. We had a great time. We caught the 7 am train down and planned on taking the 7:30 pm train back. After a long day of walking, shopping, eating and of course knitting, we were more than ready to head home. But Amtrak had other plans for us. Our train back kept getting delayed. I was beginning to think we were at SeaTac dealing with the airlines. We finally boarded our packed train at around 8:15 - 8:30 pm. We made it back to Seattle around midnight. But all in all it was a great day.

We visited Dublin Bay Knitting Company. The customer service was fantastic.

We also visited Knit & Purl. Now I found that this would be my favorite store in Portland, so far. The customer service was incredible. It was a small shop but they had quite the supply of yarns. The yarns are displayed by weight. I thought that was so cool. I purchased some Cascade 220 Superwash for my Tilted Duster from Interweave Knits Fall 2007 issue. They even wrapped my yarn in tissue paper. As haute taute as Tricoter likes to think and act like they are, they don't even go that far. I will definately visit this shop again when I return to Portland.

I have now cast on for the Tilted Duster. I have completed the Horcrux socks for the Hogwarts Sock Swap 2. I even got the package out in the mail to my partner today. Whoo Hoo!!

I also finished a baby hat and booties for a friend's new grandson.

Well onward with more of the project multi-tasking.

Seattle Rain is Baaaack

The rainy season is back. I hate the fall and winter here. It's always so dark and dreary. I was born and raised here and still cannot get used to it. I would love to be able to afford being a "Snowbird". Sun, sandy beaches and Palm trees sound really good right about now.

Well, I can't believe its been a whole month since I last posted. Bad blogger! A lot has gone on in this past month. First, my aunt took me and my cousin to "High Tea with Debbie Macomber". It was so fun. We ate and drank and saw Debbie. We even got our photos taken with her & a copy of her new book: 74 Seaside Avenue

This last weekend my best friend got married for the first time, finally! Whoo! it's about time. We have been friends since our freshman year in high school. She has been the greatest best friend that anyone could possibly hope for. She's been there through my ups and downs, to include my divorce many years ago. We have shared so many laughs and tears. I wish her all the best. She deserves it.

Here I am fighting for the bouquet!! I've been single the longest so watch out its mine!

Now on the knitting front.

I finished my Felted Beret from Fiber Trends and did a touch of needle felting on it. That was a first for me. It turned out okay. What do ya think ?

This next weekend a group of my knitting friends are headed down to Portland on Amtrak for a Yarn Crawl. I will take photos and post about the trip. I'm so excited since I haven't been on a train in years. Plus, all that knitting time!

Well here it is Sunday and September. This year has flown by so quickly. I am on the last couple of days of my last vacation of the year. Bummer! I have been watching quite a few DVD's. Today I watched Tristin + Isolde and have Age of Innocence waiting in the wings. I think I will leave that for tomorrow.

I've been working on MS3, clue#3....whoo hoo!

My BFF Janet is getting married at the end of this month so I thought I better get started on the necklace I promised her for her wedding. What do you all think?

On Friday, I went over to another friend's house and had tea and biscuits. We worked on our Hogwarts Sock Swap 2 crafts. Here's a sneaky peek at what I did. That's all you get for now.....Let the suspense build.

And it's always a lazy day for Zoe, my new kitten. If she isn't attacking my things, she's here in the Strawberry Pot sleeping and sunning herself. OOPS!! I woke her up......

I'm A Triathlete ! Again....

Today was the Danskin Triathlon. Last year was my first time doing it and again this year I was a gluten for punishment. I even shaved off 18 minutes from last years results. Yeah! I am absolutely afraid of the open water swim. I can swim but I am not a swimmer. We had to swim 603 meters. I am always so relieved when that part is done. Then on to the 20k Bike and 5k Run/Walk. Today the weather was so bad. Normal Seattle weather except this is August and we usually have wonderful weather. It down poured the whole time. The weather man said showers, not rain!

Here we are after receiving our metals all soaked and still smiling. Myself and my DBF's two sister's Michelle and MerriAnn. Could we be smiling cause it's over.....hmmm...

It is a wonderful experience. Any women that has participated will attest to that. Nothing but women bonding and participating for a great cause.

It's My Blogiversary!!

Well I really can't believe that it has been a whole year since I started to blog. Wow the time goes by. I am going to have a contest. Leave a comment and you could win a set of beaded stitch marker's.

On another note, I have found my Mojo again. Thank God. I was getting worried about it. But I am back to sock knitting and I also restarted the Mystery Stole again for the umpteenth time. I had started off with Jaegger Zephyr and didn't have enough of the color & couldn't get anymore. Then I was told by someone in my Stitch & Bitch group to try Skacel's Merino. That was a big mistake. The fiber is so fine and tangles and breaks very easily. So I found a LYS that had the Zephyr (in a different color) and have restarted and it's going great. I am still on the Clue 1 but it is coming along.

Well, I guess that's it for now......Like I said previously, leave me a comment for a chance to win a set of stitch marker's.

HELP! I Can't Find My Mojo!

I lost my Mojo and can't seem to get it back. I've been going through some serious personal issues that have taken a emotional tole on me. I haven't knit any since the Mariner's Stitch & Pitch Night. While being on vacation I have been able to catch up on some projects. I actually completed two pairs of socks.

I have also started on the Monterey Bay Scarf from Interweave Knits

Here is the loot I came back from Victoria with, from Beehive Wool on Douglas Street. Of course, more sock yarn and a pattern for a cute felted Tea Cosy.

I am now thinking about the next socks that I will knit. I put in another order to Lisa Souza for a skein of C'ant Elope and a skein of Agua Fresca. They are so scrumptious......yummy....squee....!!

The Big "50" Abduction

Well, on Friday morning I was abducted by my BFF Janet. She whisked me off to the Victoria Clipper for an overnight trip to Victoria BC, Canada. She and my DBF Michael had this all planned for a couple of weeks. Boy, did they get me good.

We found "Beehive Wool" on Douglas Street. About a 15 minute walk from the hotel. We did a lot of fondling......This is a must see if you ever go to Victoria.

Here we all are checking out the cool phone booth. Although, Owl really wanted to make a call to "Jolly ole'" England! We had to yank her out of there.......

Here' s a guy for the ladies below....

Here I am at the Legislation Building. For those of you that don't know, Victoria is the capital of British Columbia. Here we all are at "High Tea" in the beautiful majestic Empress Hotel. They began having high tea here in 1909 because the Duchess of Bedford would complain about getting a little hungry around 5 pm every day. So high tea began and became a tradition here at the Empress. the tea sandwiches, scones and cookies were wonderful. The tea I had here was the best I have ever experienced. Can't wait to have it again. They gave you a complimentary box of tea at the end.

Look they didn't even leave me a crumb........(sigh)

Here we are back on the Clipper, with all our stash, for the ride back to Seattle. Hopefully, it won't be as rough as the trip up. This time I have my motion sickness pills and ginger candy to help.

Need Another Vacation !

I have been back in the US for 2 weeks now. I need another vacation to recuperate from my trip to Mexico.....Today was actually the first day that I have had to just relax, but what have I done today?? Vacuum, dust and laundry. After I finish this post, I am going to sit down and watch a movie and knit. I've been looking forward to watching "The Good Shepherd" with Matt Damon and Robert DeNiro.

I finished these in time to wear them on the plane when I went to Mexico. They are just a basic basketweave pattern using Trekking XXL #100.

Life in Paradise with a Traveling Owl

Here I am on the way to Paradise. This was my first trip to Mexico, although Lisa and Michael have been there before. This was the first time they ever took me with them...Go Figure!

This is cool! I've never flown this way before. I'm used to doing all the work. This is going to be a real vacation.

I have arrived.....whoo hoo! Palm Trees, Sandy Beaches, what else could an Owl want?

Well, there could be one other thing! TEQUILA !!!!

Michael and Lisa took me to the Malecon' in Puerto Vallarta. We stopped in Hooter's. I thought I might run into some of my buddies.....yeah right! I was in for a big surprise. I did not see any other owl's. What I did see was a bunch of girls in tight tank tops and short (and I mean short) orange "Daisy Duke's"....Boy, was I disappointed......

I did make one aquaintance...Meet Lupita. She is going to go live with Lisa's granddaughter Chloe.

I also got to go on a boat ride through the canals of Nuevo Vallarta. We got a tour of the expensive homes and I also saw some wild life: Croccodiles, Pelicans, Crabs and a bunch of Iguanas. The Iguanas run around down here like the squirrels do back home.....

What a night!!!! urgh!! REMEMBER....What happens in Mexico stays in Mexico......

Look where I found Hedwig! Under the palm tree in my dining room. I've been looking all over for her. She's got her bags packed and can't wait to go on vacation in Puerto Vallarta. April Fools or Flash Your Stash Day

Happy April Fools.....
Well I am flashing my stash....this is pretty much what is left of my stash since destashing last month. Mostly sock yarn and Cascade 220.....I do have more yarn in other parts of the house but this is what I plan on using up first.

Here are some more of my stitch markers that I have made. Of course they are in pink and pearl....Totally phoo phoo me....

I started the Tidal Wave socks with the Tofutsie's. This yarn is so soft and feels so good while knitting up.

I have had a wonderful long 3 day weekend. Friday I went shopping with my best friend Janet. Looking for a wedding dress for her. Last night Michael and I spent the evening attending a "Bond" party with his family, we watched "Casino Royale". It was a hoot ! Then I knitted all day today and watched more DVD's. "Swordfish" with John Travolta, "A Patch of Blue" with Sydney Poitier and last but not least "Pursuit of Happyness" with Will Smith. Now to get ready for another long work week. Hi ho, hi ho....

I See Wool !

This cute guy is at one of my daily stops. Every time I see him, all I see is wool. You all know what I mean. We knitter's look beyond what is obviously in front of us and visualize what could be.....hmmm. "What I could do with all that fiber" As I place the mail in the box, he just continues to eat the grass and takes an occasional moment to pose for the camera.

Wow, it's been awhile since my last post. I have been so busy with work, knitting and trying to get used to this time change. My mind was ready for it but not my body. Every year about this time I get so excited about spring and the time change. But this year since it came 3 weeks early it was a shock to the body. Yesterday was a beautiful spring day. I wore my shorts to work....YEA ! I'm not one of those Letter Carriers that seems to think its warm enough all year long to wear shorts in the winter. Nope! Not me. Long pants and thermals until spring has sprung. I think it has sprung....(another) YEA!

Okay, it's time for the update on all the UFO's and FO's

I had to frog the tank top. It was entirely too too big for me. I need to learn how to size myself. If anyone knows of any good tutorials or has any good advise, PLEASE clue me in.

I finished the Lacy Trellis socks, 1 Basketweave sock done, 1 1/2 Lombard socks done.

Basketweave's are knit with Trekking XXL "100"
Lombard Street are knit with Lorna's Lace

I started my Clapotis (from Knitty.com) with some yarn from my stash.

Boy, did I get rid of most of my stash. I gave 1 shopping bag full each to 2 of my girlfriends that have a young daughter and niece that knit. I also gave 2 large garbage bags full to Michael's (DBF) son's school that has a knitting program. Now I'm trying to knit from my stash. If that isn't difficult. I'm also trying to finish UFO's before starting new projects. Yeah, right !

I also discovered Felting. I love it. I've been making bags. I've only done 3 but I'm on a roll.

All were done with Lamb's Pride or Noro Kureyon with Cascade 220.

This last photo is pre-felt.

I also started making stitch markers. I used to make beaded jewelery years ago and decided to put my bead stash to good use.

For the future I plan on knitting another pair of "Monkey" Socks with Lisa Souza's "Violet's Pink Ribbon" and I am going to try some Tofutsie's with the "Tidal Wave" Sock pattern by Deby Lake.

I received a dozen beautiful Roses from my DBF Michael.

Besides posting my finished Monkey socks, I haven't blogged in a while. I have been busy with work, knitting and trying to reduce my "Stash".

Looking through my stash, I have found yarn that I totally forgot I had. Let alone, "Why did I buy this ?" Also, I had aquired my mom's stash a few years ago when she gave up knitting. Alot of that dreaded cheap "acrylic" Ewee !! Yes, I am a "Yarn Snob" I have found that I have 2 garbage bags full to give away.

In January I attended the Madrona Fiber Arts
Marketplace It was awesome! A day of fondling fibers. I even got to fondle some Quivit. Wow ! $70 for a tiny tiny skein, barely enough for a scarf. Of course, I had to visit the Blue Moon Fiber's booth to purchase some "Socks that Rock" Clockwise from top: The Artful Ewe, STR "Lemongrass", STR "Citrine"

Finished Monkey Socks KAL

I finished my first pair of Monkey Socks and love them. I love the yarn I used. Mountain Colors Barefoot "Juniper" colorway. I really enjoyed knitting these and plan on knitting more pairs.

I recently saw another pair in progress on another blog. She was using Lisa Souza's "Violet's Pink Ribbon". I plan on knitting my next pair with it.

Never thought I would be happy to see it rain

Thank God for the rain. Most or all the snow and ice have melted away. Unfortunately for me not all of it is gone yet. While out on my mail route yesterday, I slipped on a patch of ice and sprained my right shoulder. I will be off work for a few days and will return to work with very strict restrictions. Albeit, management will probably send me back home. If I can't use my arm then what work can a Letter Carrier do ? During this time hopefully I will be able to work on some of my UFO's.

"Juniper" I love the greens that are in this colorway. Mountain Colors is so soft to the touch. It feels so good while knitting up. This was my first experience using it. I know I will use this yarn again.

Also, OTN's is the Noro Kureyon Girls Jacket that I am knitting for my 20 month old grand-daughter Chloe. I saw this sweater on display at my LYS and fell in love with it. It is an old Noro pattern that is no longer in print. It is also my first attempt at Intarsia.

To change the subject before I finish up here today, I was sad to see the Seahawks lose the game against the Chicago Bears. It was a good game and close. The Seahawks gave us a wild roller coaster season, but it was exciting. I will be waiting for next season and the road to the SuperBowl 2008. In the meantime, I will be cheering for the New Orleans Saints.

El Nino ??? (or is this some kind of joke)

I thought we were supposed to be having an unusually warm winter with "El Nino". I guess the National Weather Forcasters are having a good laugh at our expense.

It snows so little here that people seem to lose any common sense they did have when it comes to operating a motor vehicle. I have watched people try to ascend a hill covered with compact snow and ice without chains. What makes them seem to think that they will make it, especially those with rear wheel drive. Also, all those 4-Wheelers out there that seem to think they are immune to icy roads. I love to laugh when I see them in a ditch.

Well the Seahawks got out of "Dodge" yesterday to go to the "Windy City" to kick some serious Bear butt....

I'm a die hard Hawks Fan. Even though they are playing on "Da Bears" home field, never fear #12 will be there.

We have to give Taima The Hawk her props also as she leads the Seahawks on to the field and a victory.

Ear Light

Yesterday I attended the Sunday Knitting Group at my LYS. It was the first since the new year began. We all hadn't seen each other since before Christmas, except for those of us that attend the local "Stitch & Bitch. So it was nice to find out about the Christmas gifts that had been knit and sent on their way to their new homes.

I am so excited about my new purchase: ear light. Yea!!

We had had a blackout the week before christmas. I was out of power for 3 days. Some were out for over a week. I wish I had the light during the outage. I had used a regular flashlight. Being able to knit kept my spirits up and also kept me from total boredom.

I totally recommend the ear light....I purchased mine from Radio Shack. It was very inexpensive.

Happy New Year everyone. I hope that everyone had a great holiday season. Now that its over for another year and the Christmas knitting is done, I have time to get back to knitting for myself and catch up on all my favorite podcasts. Although, I am pleased that that my Aunt & Uncle are enjoying the Tea Cosy that I had knit them. It was my first attempt at Faire Isle and it turned out nice.

I had also knit my cousin a scarf with Koigu.

My mother recieved a red scarf and beret knit out of Koigu along with a Multidirectional scarf knit with alpaca.

Then for my DBF, Michael, I knit my first pair of guy socks. I have knit other socks but never for anyone else. I learned that you need much more yarn for guys....DUH !

Last but not least, for my granddaughter Chloe, I knit the Crayon Sweater with King Cole, with a matching beret. I call it the Crayon Sweater because I used buttons that represented crayons. She also got the Pumpkin Hat & Strawberry hat.

Now with all that done.......I can breath a breath of satisfaction and relief and get on with my own UFO's and of course new projects.
